Position Overview

The Senior Animator contributes to the development and production of character animations required for a game. They are required to work collaboratively in a team, using their sound knowledge and experience with Max and Motion Builder.

During their 5+ years experience in the games industry, they will have recently produced character animations at a senior level on PS3 and Xbox 360 platforms. They will have experience contributing to the technical and artistic pillars of a title, working with the Lead Animator or Animation Director to achieve a high standard of game animations.

Key Responsibilities

- Collaborate with your team and Animation Director to achieve key quality standards and content
- Produce assets of a consistent quality to a agreed specification
- Support the junior members of the team, leading by example and encouraging good communication, using solid procedures
- Contribute to artistic schedules to ensure cost effective, timely production
- Support in the identification of project risks, both art and tech related and help set priorities
- When required, develop solutions that contribute to quality results within time and budget constraints
- Keep up to speed with current industry trends and cutting edge games

Knowledge, Skills and Experience

- Animation based degree desirable
- 5+ years experience creating animation assets
- Expertise in creation of animation for AAA titles, including: rigging, skinning & working with mocap data
- Creative animation skills including knowledge of the technical aspects
- A good understanding of human anatomy
- Practical knowledge of current 3D software - Max and Motion Builder
- Strong communication skills
- Ability to listen but also to make informed decisions when necessary
- Rigging and scripting experience a plus

- Motion Capture
