PHP / MySQL Developers for Hoodlum

Overview
The developer will contribute to the implementation of backend functionality on original, interactive web sites as directed by the Lead PHP Developer. They will work with other PHP developers as well as Flash developers to both implement projectspecific solutions and to continue development of Hoodlum’s proprietary server-side content delivery and management technology. In addition, they will be expected to be familiar with HTML, CSS and basic JavaScript development.

Key Duties
- Creating efficient, scalable code for use in high load environments
- Ability to work with and understand requirements of Flash developers, and deliver solutions to their specifications
- Create database-intensive applications in a flexible and scalable manner
- Create code that is adaptable to rapidly changing technical requirements

Essential Skills
- Minimum 2 years PHP programming experience
- Object-orientated PHP5 programming
- MySQL database experience
- Dynamic generation of XML and other data formats
- Development of XHTML, CSS and Javascript
- Ability to work well in compact development teams
- Ability to effectively self-manage under tight deadlines
- Familiarity with basic web server configuration

Desirable Skills
- Experience with version control systems
- Experience with basic command-line UNIX
- Experience with PHP-based CMS systems such as Drupal
- Experience with JavaScript libraries such as Prototype and JQuery
