The Project Joystick developer announced

Company

The Project Joystick competition, which you all know is a local competition formed by Telstra Bigpond and the ACMI which will give the winner the opportunity of having their game idea developed into a real game, ends in a few weeks.

Gamearena has just announced that Firemint will be the developer taking on the task in turning the winning idea into a reality. Firemint CEO, Rob Murray, quoted at Gamearena...

"We are really excited about working locally on Project Joystick. Not only will the idea be discovered in Australia, but it will be published by an Australian company. That is something the industry here dreams of! The winner is going to have the rare opportunity to work in a professional production environment, and have their idea taken all the way to market. Every success in Australia helps our industry globally and Project Joystick will open the doors for more awesome home-grown talent and innovation."

This is a great opportunity for Firemint. Because Bigpond are spending half the money ($500k) on marketing, this will greatly increase their exposure.
