RESPONSIBILITIES
Work closely with the Studio Development Director and the Artists to take part in the development of a brand new surfing title. Your job is to build a pre-rendered opening movie sequence, animated load screen sequences, game cover art and animated company logo sequence for our PC / PS3 title, The Surfer™.
You will need to concept and then build. This means you will need to be able to work under pressure to meet deadlines and effectively meet the aesthetic, stylistic, and technical quality bar
REQUIREMENTS
EXPERIENCE:
- Previous experience within the film and game industry and /or.
- An exceptional demo reel
SOFT SKILLS:
- Understands game production design process and methodology
- Demonstrated ability to solve complex problems efficiently
- Effective communication with peers, development staff and senior management
- Ability to work under pressure and balance the impacts of deadlines and resources with the style and quality requirements of a project
- Strong time management skills with a proven ability to focus on multiple priorities and juggle multiple tasks and deadlines
- Ability to work cooperatively on a team spanning artists, programmers and designers, and to compromise when necessary to achieve overall best results
- Strong written and oral communication
HARD SKILLS:
- Intimate knowledge of game development process from concept, pre-production, production, post-production to final product release
- Demonstrable excellence as a VFX artist (motion, compositing, animation)
- Extensive experience of VFX editors and particle systems, know platforms and engine limits, maximize quality and manage risks
- In depth knowledge of the graphical aspects involved in game development related to VFXs
- Knowledge of industry standard 2D and 3D (3DS Max, Maya, Houdini, Photoshop, After Effects, etc…) DCC applications
- Experience as an animator, texture artist a major plus
EDUCATION:
- University degree
