Senior Environment Artist for Transmission Games

We are seeking a Senior Environment Artist to join Transmission Games, a Melbourne based developer. We are currently working three next gen (PS3, XBox360) titles, in the sports, flight and action genres.

Reporting to the Environment and Project Lead Artists, the Senior Environment Artist will be responsible for the creation of Environment assets and entire levels for PS3 and Xbox360 Games.

The ideal candidate will possess significant skills in environment modelling, preferably using Maya, and be expert in texturing using Photoshop. They should also have an understanding of level construction for “Next Generation” games, using off the shelf and in-house tools.

Position Outline
• Build, texture and light environments using in house tools.
• Work closely with the designers, artists and programmers to create environments.
• Organize workflow to stay on schedule.
• Maintain a positive work atmosphere and communicate in a professional manner with co-workers and publishers.

Key Minimum Requirements Sought
• Expert with at least one industry standard 3D modelling package (Maya preferred) and Photoshop.
• Impressive portfolio of environment art: environment and props essential.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Experience & Qualifications:
• Minimum 4 years experience in games or an equivalent industry, with at least 2 years games industry experience.
• Preferably at least one published title.
• Qualification in a related discipline an advantage.

Areas Of Speciality Required:
• Understanding of level asset requirements from technical, artistic and game play perspective.
• Zbrush / Mudbox skills an advantage.
• Can produce high quality realistic models within strict budgets and limitations.
