Creative Director
We are seeking an experienced Creative Director to join our studio at our Melbourne location. Reporting to the Head of Studio, this demanding yet rewarding role is responsible for creating design targets, and maintaining the design of all games within the studio. The Creative Director maintains the design integrity throughout the entire project, ensuring consistency and the highest competitive quality.
Role:
- Leading all designers in the conception and implementation of all game features.
- Providing direction to the team in the creation of innovative game mechanics and an engaging player experience.
- Maintaining a collaborative relationship with other Directors.
- Architecting the creation of all design documentation.
- Works with Tech Director to define and review pipeline for all design data, including all internal tools. Help with generation of schedules for design team members.
- Hiring of new design team members.
- Working with the Producer on the focus and scope of the game over the course of development.
- Final tuning and refinement of the game-play.
- Knowledge of design tools.
- Hands-on prototyping of game content during concept development phase.
Requirements:
- At least 6 years as a designer or equivalent in the game industry.
- Experience with a game development team of 30 people or more.
- One or more shipped titles in a lead design role that includes direct reports.
- Demonstrable knowledge of design concepts and the ability to apply them.
- Experience with creating games for consoles.
- Solid scheduling and organizational skills, as well as clear ‘people skills.

Art Director
Due to a restructure we are seeking an experienced Art Director to join our studio at our Melbourne location.
Reporting to the Head of Studio, this challenging and rewarding role is responsible for creating visual targets, and maintaining the look and feel of all art within the game. The Art Director maintains the visual integrity throughout the entire project, ensuring consistency and the highest competitive quality.
Role:
- Takes an active role in planning of projects, authoring/maintaining style guides, gathering reference material and commissioning concept illustrations.
- Defines and plans the scope of work with the Producer in addition to techniques used to ensure the delivery of AAA quality art.
- Regularly reviews, provides feedback and works with Production to approve the art content being built.
- Reliably specs out new projects and ensures the Art team have the number of resources and time needed to deliver AAA quality art.
- Creates and maintains estimates and schedules (during pitch process and early stages of game development) until process is taken on by Producer and Leads.
- Works with the Head of Studio, other Directors and Producers on a regular basis to ensure that product vision and quality benchmarks are being met in addition to studio resource allocation, project planning and management.
- Provides mentorship, coaching and performance management of lead artists on a game team as well as team members in collaboration with the Lead Artists. Compels the art team to think beyond their known skills and techniques to allow for growth and visual improvement.
- As required, assists Art Leads and individual artists on specific tasks to ensure successful visual flow.
Requirements:
- Exhibit enthusiasm, positive attitude, and charisma. Must be a proven leader.
- 3+ years of management experience in the game industry with at least one shipped title as a manager.
- 6+ years of artistic experience.
- Working knowledge of the various aspects of game development.
- Exceptional level of competence in at least one field of game art.
- Detail-oriented and driven by results.
- Excellent problem solving skills.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- The ability to motivate and inspire those around them.
