Game Programmer for 3 Blokes Studios - Brisbane Australia

3 Blokes Studios is looking for a game programmer to join their growing team making games for Facebook. As a programmer you will be working with game teams to collaboratively develop a live titles through building a solid user interface to be used by millions of players.

DUTIES & ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

- Integrate code and release new builds on a regular basis
- Report to the Programming Lead on project progress / issues
- Make sure the programming needs of the project are being met by the programming team assigned to the project
- Merge code into release builds and work with QA to bug fix any issues that may arise
- Work with a team of artists and programmers / designers to ensure programming standards are being kept
- Code in PHP, HTML, JavaScript, MySQL, ActionScript 3

QUALIFICATIONS

- Bachelors Degree in Computer Science or equivalent
- Passion for software development and OO Design (experience with Java, C++, C sharp or ActionScript 3)
- Have a good understanding of networking and network programming, database principles and MySQL
- Excellent teamwork skills, flexibility, and ability to handle multiple tasks
- Excellent communication skills, ability to communicate coherently and explain coding standards to others
- Strong initiative and work proactively without instruction
- Strong problem solving skills
- Strong passion for games
- Play Facebook games and keep up to date with the latest Facebook trends and latest Facebook game trends
- Be able to quickly learn and adapt to changes
- Expert with Flash CS4 / Flex
- Programming and team-work experience on a shipped game (or at the very least a completed project)
- Programming experience on a multi-player game E
- Experience working under an AGILE management system (SCRUM)
- Examples of work / code
- Able to write TrafficScript for Server Load Balancing and redundancies
- Familiar with Unix / Solaris operating systems
- Familiar with Apache
- Expert ActionScript 3, PHP, JavaScript, SQL knowledge
- Expert knowledge of the Facebook platform
- Game Design experience
- Bachelors Degree in Computer Science or equivalent
