THQ Studio Australia, based in Brisbane, Australia, is a developer and publisher of interactive entertainment software. Founded in January 2003 as part of THQ Inc., THQ Studio Australia now employs more than 80 talented staff developing on all major console platforms, including Xbox 360, Playstation 3 and Nintendo Wii.

We currently have opportunity for a highly talented and experienced Art Director to manage the overall leadership and direction of the Art team. This role is perfect for someone with a director level Art background, that’s looking to be part of inspiring work culture. The successful person will have experience in a similar role and a passion and knowledge of the games industry. The Art Director will report directly to the Studio General Manager.

Your work involves:-

• Directs Art team in the creation and implementation of art for assigned products.
• Drives the vision, style and processes for art on given projects.
• Responsible for ensuring production of art is on track and in line with overall project targets, expectations, schedule, etc.
• Anticipates, identifies and articulates impediments to achieving targets.
• Communicates with other departments and management as needed to accomplish project objectives.
• Develop Art staff; providing support, goal structure and career guidance.
• Works closely with the Directors and GM on company strategy.
• Maintain high quality communication and diplomacy with external partners.

Sound interested, do you have?

• Significant game industry experience, including completion of multiple development projects in a similar role.
• Strong experience and understanding of 2D and 3D art, including modeling, texturing, and concept art
• Strong aesthetic eye with attention to detail
• Excellent leadership, management, planning and organizational skill.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including an ability to present well in front of small and large groups.
• Proven ability to network and build strong professional relationships.
• Degree level education preferable.
