The summer holidays are nigh and i've been unable to take part in the previous two 48 hour comps...
who's up for a 3rd?
Ok, just looking over the posts..
How about we run things from early to mid January, run it for 2 weeks, use the competition rules from a ludumdare comps as a guide. Someone has to nominate themselves to come up with a theme, and modify those rules to suit the Sumea programmer challenge to get things going...
I think a totally random theme might be cool - one that can be totally taken and thrown about to crazyness. 48 hours.... If its in January and I'm not working I might give it a shot. I'm only amatuer but so coding anything good in 48 hours is a huge push, well, if I actually manage to finish something I'll submit it.
Someone has to nominate themselves to come up with the theme and the rules. I know!!!
Theme:
Extreme Machine Sports XD
Standard Rules of 'Extreme Machine Sports XD':
Must be wierd/awesome XD!!
Any art style you want.
Any language/API you want.
*Special* Rules:
Allowed to get artists to do art for you if you totally suck at anything other than coding (like me)
2 weeks (4 if you're an amateur coder - like me)
I will decide who is given these special rules, and I have decided that the only person to recieve these privelges will be me.
I think the rules are pretty fair...
Possibly ideas that I think can come from 'Extreme Machine Sports XD' (wide category):
Robot Dog Rocker Soccer
Racing cars/boats/segways (all in one game)
Racing (insert machine here)
Extreme Action Robot Kung Fu
Mobile Suit Dance Off!
Mobile Suit Dance Off! Break-dance edition
