About my Game Developing I've been developing games for about 10 years now. I started out making power point games when I was around 7 years old. I then found Game Maker in Secondary school and I've been developing with that for 3+ years. It didn't take me long to get my head around the whole Drag&Drop developing, but then realized that I needed to learn code if I wanted to make the quality of my games even better. Box by box, I slowly learnt what the actual code inside the Drag & Drop boxes was. I also remember spending countless hours reading the Game Maker help file.

I practically learnt everything I know about Game Maker from that help file, until I discovered Yoyogames.com. The little YYG banner had been sitting there on my Game Maker window for almost a year before I decided to click on it, and at that moment, I entered the world of Game Developing.
The best game I've made, and the game I've had the most success with is Base Defender V2. This game came 1st in GameCog's Explosion Competition and 2nd overall in the University of Ballarat UB a Game Maker competition. It was also featured on YoyoGames.com and has had some reviews written about it on Blogs Developers have set up. As you may know, I'm currently working on the 3rd version of Base Defender, which looks to be even more amazing. It's coming along well. I am very experienced with GML and happy to share my knowledge with users who wish to expand their understanding of the program and the concept of game design.
Another interesting site about Game Maker games was GMArcade.com. I joined this community, and found them all very friendly. I became a GMArcade Moderator about 3 weeks after joining, and even designed some logos for the site, that are still there today! Unfortunately, this site never really took off. Everyone knew everyone, it was great. But now, Matt (The creator) has disappeared somewhere, and the site is slowly dieing away. Bugs are arising, (users can no longer upload games), but there are still several users that are happy to chat away in the forums with the few friendly GMA members left. It was fun while it lasted, maybe it'll come back one day...
In 2010, Spritem (A program I made) won $1300 in the Victorian Technology Competition, coming first overall, and first in it's category. I have entered this competition again this year, with my program EazyOpen. I don't expect this to have as much success, but hopefully it'll win something small, and I'll put that money towards selling Base Defender 3 if that's what I decide to do. My life and Music:
I've been heavily involved with music my whole life. I've been learning piano since I was about 5, but stopped at 8th grade. I didn't want to go for my AMUS.
I love everything about the Piano, and I can't help but play a really nice Grand when I see one sitting there on it's own. I play a couple more instruments (Guitar, Trumpet, French Horn), but really love composing. I've been doing this since Secondary School. I started off with Garageband, which was ok, but then in Year 10 I found FL Studio (Thanks to my friend Dangas). This is a Windows program, that really amazes me, and I still use it today. I do parkour once a week at Palmer's gym. It's really fun and helps to keep me fit! I've already learned how to do wall spins and some other stuff. Yes, I have a Nerf gun. I believe it's called the "Maverick". It's a 6 barrel pistol. It is sweet. I had swimming lessons for a fair few years, so if a boat I'm on ever sinks....I'll be fine. I work at IGA (A supermarket) I have a red belt in karate. (not that impressive, it's the one after white ) I own my own bike. I bought 'her' for $160 at Cash Converters, and I think she was stolen and cashed in because it's a REALLY nice bike. I muchly enjoy riding it places. I own a Desktop with Windows XP, and a Macbook Pro with Leopard and 7 I'm also the lead singer/front man of a local band, 'Image Transit' which is a lot of fun. One of my favourite foods is cafe style raisin toast, toasted well and buttered to perfection. It's the best type of bread. I play tennis with 3 of my mates every Friday after school, just for a bit of physical activity and fun. I've never been on TV, but I did a small radio session with a friend for a couple of weeks, but then quit. (It was really boring)
