[edit] History

Tasman Studios was founded in 1999 with the goal of developing interactive entertainment on new and non-traditional gaming platforms.

After successfully operating as consultants and contract developers for several game projects (specialising in the field of distributed multiplayer game development) Tasman moved on to its own projects.

In December 2003, Tasman released Cybots, a massively multiplayer web game now with more than 25,000 players.

Current development projects include a range of games for the micro device market (based on the Java 2 Micro Edition (J2ME) platform). Hyper-Gate, the first title in this line, is scheduled for release in the second quarter of 2004.

Development of Realm, Tasman's massively multiplayer strategy game is continuing. No launch date has currently been set.

Tasman is headquartered in Sydney, Australia.

The Tasman Studios website had been offline for a while before they were delisted from Sumea on 13/4/2007.
