Instructions for Musicians
To add music files, you need to follow these simple steps.
1. To upload your mp3 file, go to "Create content" and click "Upload Audio".
Note: You can only upload one mp3 file at a time here, and there is a 4mb limit for mp3 files.
"Title" : you don't need to fill this in as the system will grab the title and artist for you if they are labelled correctly in the mp3, however you can change it youself if you really want to.
"Body" : describe your audio file here.
"Audio file info - Add a new audio file" : this is where you browse your mp3 file on your computer for uploading.
"Audio file info - iTunes feed information " :
"Attached audio files" : Leave this area blank! You don't need to fill anything here.
Click submit and please be patient as your mp3 file uploads.
You can change the details of the uploaded mp3 file such as Artist, Title, Album, Genre, and Year after you submit. It's a good idea to check and update them as audio files are categorized that way and can be searched from those details.
If you want to add the music you just uploaded to your journal/blog entry, then follow these steps.
1. You need to have uploaded audio files previously using the steps above.
2. Make your journal entry. Go to "Create content", then click "Make Journal entry".
3. Fill in the details such as title and body of your journal/blog entry, then scroll down to the section titled "Attached audio files"
4. "Existing audio file" will list all the audio files you have uploaded. Select one, and then submit your Journal post.
** Note, do not use the "Upload new audio file" option to upload an mp3 here!!
If you want to [;ace more audio files to your Journal post from your list, then edit your journal post again and select another file from the "Existing audio file" like you did in step 4, and click submit.
You can go back to the "Attached audio files" section to arrange the order of your audio files, or remove / add more from your list of uploaded audio files.
