Real Serious Games is world leading in creating interactive, useful, accurate virtual worlds, enabling anyone to activate a new level of understanding. We do this by creating interactive virtual worlds, forensic animations, custom interactive software solutions, serious games and virtual reality experiences on PC and mobile devices.
We are a small, fast-moving company and you will work on all aspects of our development across a range of diverse technologies. We aim to build high quality products and deliver code that we can be proud of. The role will provide challenging problems to solve and give opportunity to grow, learn and pass on your skills to other developers. You will be the leader of our development team and work closely with artists and engineers on simultaneous projects.
You will be enthusiastic, friendly and adaptable. You must be a dedicated programmer, self-motivated and committed to developing code that is simple, maintainable and well-tested. You should be prepared to learn on the job at a fast pace and lead by example.
Good communication skills are essential, as is a minimum of 8 years' professional experience with at least 3 in a lead role. Demos and examples of work are highly regarded. You must be willing to learn other languages and technologies as we evolve.
C++ or C#
Game Engine (Unity3D preferred but not essential)
Involvement with all stages of software development from product inception through to software release management
Project scoping and development of technical specifications and design of core systems
Writing technical documentation to ensure quality, effectiveness and appropriateness of all engine code
Project management including budget and schedule development and tracking
Management of a team of programmers, delegating work and delivering on schedule
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science/Software Development/similar or equivalent demonstrable industry experience
Mobile app development
Web application development
Databases and data management
Software release and support
Be able to work closely with the content development and engineering team leaders to understand requirements
Have excellent people management and communication skills, including tact and diplomacy
Be able to resolve conflicts and solve problems
Be approachable and listen to what people need and want, both from other disciplines and within your own team
Be able to inspire and motivate the development team to ensure that everything gets delivered on schedule, whilst still being hands on and responsible for individual tasks
Be self-motivated, and possess the ability to quickly learn and adapt to new processes on diverse projects
