True Axis and their three+ year iOS port of Space Tripper

Submitted by souri on Thu, 03/11/2011 - 1:21pm

Three and a half years seems like an unusually long time to port a game to the mobile platform, but that's apparently how long it took Melbourne games developers, True Axis. Toucharcade.com has been following the progress of bringing PomPom Games' indie PC horizontal shooter, Space Tripper, to the iOS platform (iPhone, iPod, and iPad). Originally slated for release in early 2009, the title has had a long slog in development with numerous issues encountered by the then two member team at True Axis.

Local developers spearheading OpenFeint OFX freemium service

Submitted by souri on Thu, 02/12/2010 - 2:16pm

If you hated the word "freemium" to describe the free-to-play with microtransactions model then you'd best get used to hearing it as it is fast becoming a successful and popular way for games developers to monetise their efforts on places like the Appstore.
