Academia International, a Melbourne based nationally accredited education institute is offering games development courses at the Advanced Diploma Level. Focusing on educating you in development of digital games across different media from PCs, to games consoles and now the ever popular mobile and slate computer devices are courses remain current to industry trends. Students can undertake either a 1 to 2 year Digital Arts or Games Programming stream funded by the Victorian State Government’s Victorian Training Guarantee initiative. Both games programming and digital arts courses have been ratified by industry experts on Academia International’s Industry Advisory Board. The courses are structured between 1 to 2 years, 20 hours per week (3 days per week full time) with trainers from the games industry as well as frequent guest lecturers who happen to be current games development practitioners.

ICA60105 Advanced Diploma of Information Technology
The programming stream comprises of a Certificate IV in Programming and an Advanced Diploma of Information
Technology both majoring in Games Development. The course is designed to take you from little to no programming
experience through to being able to design and create your own games. The course is very hands on and you will be
creating multiple games throughout both individually as well as in a team environment.

CUF60107 Advanced Diploma of Screen and Media
The art stream is comprised of a Diploma and Advanced Diploma of Screen and Media majoring in Games Digital Arts.
Working in the 2D and 3D digital art and digital animation realm, students gain skills in developing Games. These skills are
also transferrable to the Simulation, Design, Urban Planning, Defence Forces, Architecture, Bio‐Technology, Illustration
and Advertising industries.
The basic method used to teach the material through out the course will be daily lectures followed by in class practical exercises.
