QA Engineer

The QA Engineer is responsible for the software quality assurance of land base slot games, working closely with game developers, game designer and studio director.

With a strong brand presence in the US, we’ve expanded onto Aussie soil with our newest Sydney office. We’re looking for a QA Tester to join our newest studio team and make sure our product quality continues to shine. If you are a self-motivated person who enjoys the complexities of working in a multidiscipline creative environment and slot game testing experience, then we love to meet you. 

What you will be doing:

  • Identifying game software issues early to reduce the number of bugs being generated by the external QA team. 
  • Executing tests according to a test plan, performing functional testing and regression of known issues to verify resolution.
  • Working closely with game developers and providing feedback to the game development team on how to reduce re-occurring issues.
  • Narrowing down the probable cause or steps of hard to reproduce issues.
  • Researching hard to fix issues identified by the external QA team to help expedite resolution.
  • Loading new versions of games as needed onto the target proprietary hardware.
  • Consistently perform to high standards of accuracy, thoroughness, and timeliness.
  • Self-accountable and accepts consequences of his/her actions. Demonstrates unquestionable integrity in their daily duties.

Skills and Experience

To be successful in this position you:

  • Must have experience of testing different type of Class III slot games.
  • Experience in understanding of game functionality and platform functionality.
  • Experience of gaming machine communication protocols (e.g., SAS).
  • Good knowledge of GLI regulatory requirements.
  • Hands on with CI environments such as Bamboo or Jenkins.
  • Experience or good knowledge of Linux OS, Unity and XML.
  • Good knowledge of OO programming languages (e.g C#, C++).
  • Hands on experience of testing methodologies, iterative development.
  • Hands on experience in documenting test plans & test cases in Test Rail or Jira Zephyr or Zephyr Scale.
  • Excellent analytical & problem-solving skills and out-of-the-box thinking abilities.
  • Experience in using bug or issue reporting tools.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
  • Must have 2+ experience in game testing with a slot game manufacturer.
  • Good team player - a passion to help your team members and to work with them for the greater good.
  • Be self-motivated and proactive to get stuff done.
  • Ability to analyze a problem and narrow down the cause.
  • Ability to maintain high quality and thorough testing standards; able to work with various testing and reporting tools.
  • Good communication skills, ability to clearly communicate with the stakeholder and an eye for detail.

It would be great if you could have…

  • Experience or knowledge using different QA tools such as generating code coverage reports and detection of memory leaks.
  • Experience with version control software.
  • Slot game testing experience will be considered.
