The company is looking for a Full-Time Narrative Writer who has the ability to create highly detailed and immersive stories, narrative arcs, history, lore, and dialogue for the projects needs. Our games are not linear experiences, so any experience in non-linear narrative is a bonus.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
* Develop compelling stories of the game/characters while incorporating the core pillars and vision of the project.
* Brainstorming and creating the history and lore of the projects world.
* Writing dialogue and barks that express the intention and mood of the characters.
* Working in an Agile development environment.
* Collaborate and clearly communicate any ideas to other team members.
* Keep up to date with all game design documents and changes to the game so the story can be accurate with in-game content.
* Any other duties requested that fall within the abilities of the employee.

Requirements:
* High creativity and imagination skills.
* The ability to think ahead for the story plots and possible future adaptations of a story/game.
* Highly organized and self-motivated.
* Experience working with Unity or other game development tools.
* Ability to process and proactively react to feedback from multiple sources.
* Have worked on two or more released games for PC or Console as a Narrative Writer

Bonus:
* Highly advantageous if you have good game designing skills.

Join our growing talented team at Playcorp Studios where we are working on AAA quality games for a global market across all platforms. The company is looking for a Full-Time highly efficient 3D modeler to work on in-game characters, creatures, structures, environments and props. The ideal candidate will be able to adapt to different art styles and meet any technical requirements.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
* Interpreting concepts by other artists within the team to create 3D assets.
* Creation of high and low resolution 3D artwork fitting to the game’s art style with or without pre-made concept art.
* Providing feedback on concept art and artwork developed by fellow artists.
* Using specific Unity tools to implement and set up in-game assets.
* Unwrapping and texturing 3D artwork from your own work or fellow artists.
* Creation of game ready artwork within technical constraints and time budgets.
* Working closely with a programmer to implement artworks when needed.
* Assisting other artists where needed with concepts, textures, unwrapping or any requirements that fit inside an artists position.
* Effectively backing up source assets files to project specifications.
* Tweaking, improving and updating old textures of models when necessary.

Requirements and experience:
* At least 3 years of professional game development experience.
* Portfolio and/or reel demonstrating relevant artistic skills required.
* Be approachable and listen to what people need and want from all game stakeholders.
* Proficiency in Photoshop, Substance Painter, Zbrush and other relevant design and development tools.
* Experience using Unity.
* Excellent written and oral communication skills.

Bonus Points:
* Substance Designer experience.

Playcorp Studios is searching for an enthusiastic and talented 2D Illustrator with a passion for games, to work onsite at our office space located in Melbourne's city centre.

Our ideal candidate is someone who displays AAA standard of work in a broad range of styles. The artist must be able to concept and meet technical requirements including character design, environment design, interface design and iconography. In this role you’ll be expected to concept a range of assets from characters, environments and props. Other tasks may also include creating game effects or storyboarding.

This is a full time position with the expected annual salary of 60k-70k

We are looking for an artist who:
* Is able to successfully follow schedules and meet deadlines
* Has extensive experience in Photoshop or equivalent software
* Shows strong illustration skills
* Has a superior eye for lighting, value, color and details
* Has icon creation skills

Server Engineer (Senior)
We’re looking for somebody to help us create and maintain an online infrastructure that supports millions of concurrent players in a secure, stable, highly performant and reliable manner. You’ll be using a wide combination of the latest AWS, Google Cloud and web technologies (Lambda/Cloud Functions using C# and JavaScript, Node.js, Terraform/Serverless, Cognito/Firebase, DynamoDB/Bigtable, Docker/Kubernetes etc) to allow us to dynamically scale a fleet of containerized, .NET Core based game servers. Perhaps you already have experience with many of these technologies, or perhaps you've got a proven track record in taking on similarly complex challenges.

Ideally, you’ll be Melbourne based and already hold a Visa allowing you to work in Australia. We’ll consider a remote position for the right candidate, if you’re willing to be available with crossover during Australian business hours.

REQUIRED

We're looking for an adaptable generalist to add to our highly experienced, professional and pragmatic engineering team who all have a love of games, and contribute both creatively as well as technically to the games we make. In this role, you'll be primarily using C# and Unity, collaborating closely with our artists and designers to come up with creative solutions to help make our games as fun and rewarding for our players as possible. Just because we’re calling out for a generalist, doesn’t mean we aren’t extremely interested in hearing about any particular interests you have that may contribute positively to our studio!

REQUIRED

The Job:

Unity/C# Programmer – Torus Games

Torus is seeking a talented and passionate Unity/C# Programmers. The role will be a full time-fixed term for 12 months contract, with potential to extend. Salary $70 - $100k commensurate with experience.

Located in Melbourne’s Eastern suburbs with a 25 year history, Torus has developed a wide variety of games for global publishers based on high value brands from companies including Disney, Dreamworks, Sony, Mattel, Nickelodeon and others. From PC to consoles, mobiles and VR, Torus creates games for all popular game platforms.

Skills Required:

From our office located in the CBD (close to Flinders Street Station), our team at Beethoven & Dinosaur is working on our debut title: the Artful Escape published by Annapurna Interactive. We’re looking for a Level Artist to join our friendly team, and help flesh-out the alien worlds of our multiverse.

We’re searching for an artist with a strong understanding of composition, a loving attention to detail, and streak of imaginative flair. You’ll be tasked with populating the 2.5D levels of the Artful Escape in swathes of our outlandish assets and props. Think of it as arranging a film set or a theatre stage.

We’d love to see any examples of your artistic lens: Concept art – Illustration – Previous level design experience – Level Mods you’ve made – Cinema you’ve filmed. Whatever you’ve created that shows a passion and an aptitude for Environmental Design.
