Senior Games Programmer (Sydney)

Job Position

Global English is looking for a Senior Games Programmer with a passion for creating beautiful and engaging digital worlds and learning experiences for children. Working with our creative team, game designer and the other senior programmers you will write code towards a rich 3D world for children to explore, learn and create in.

Work Type: Full time
Start date: Immediate start
Location: Sydney, Australia
Remuneration: A$75K-85K depending on experience

Responsibilities and Duties

Coding in all areas of game development, including gameplay, UI, 2D/3D graphics, effects, AI, camera and audio
Implementing code and building tools that support the delivery of a complex virtual world
Collaborating with the other programmers to maintain efficient development and a clean code-base
Effective communication with artists and designers to better understand the project’s needs
Cooperation with the Technical Director and executive leadership
Timely identification and management of risks and issues
To create something with an innate sense of fun, engagement and educational rigour

Candidate Requirements

A passion for game development
5+ years game programming experience (indie and/or studio)
Experience with advanced C# programming (linq, anonymous delegates, reflection, etc)
Ability to adopt in-house tech, coding standards and programming philosophies
Ability to write clean and elegant code
Experience working with major commercial game engines, including Unity
An enthusiastic, passionate, self-starter with a collaborative work style
