  • Gamers.com has an article on some MMORGs that are in the works on various platforms accompanied with some stats on how much revenue some older titles are pulling in. Yahoo also have a similar article here "Even with its limited audience, 'EverQuest' is generating $40 million-$50 million a year for a couple of years, which is a great return on an investment that's much less than developing a movie" There is also another article which makes some analysis of MMOG Subscription Growth, and comes up…
  • Ok, I know it's not just me, but you may have experienced this error on Sumea for the past week. "Microsoft JET Database Engine error '80040e10' No value given for one or more required parameters. /snews.asp, line 35" The last line will vary depending on what page you're viewing. It's pretty much a website stopper, and it's frustrating as there's nothing I can do about it. Usually when this error occurs, you'll find that you have to wait 5 or so minutes and try again before the site is back.…
  • Every once in a while you'll come across a tutorial on the net which blows you away with it's detail, insightful methods, and quality, that you'd think it wouldn't be out of place in a published book. It's basically an entire human modelling tutorial (and we're talking head, hair, hands, feet too.. all of it), and also shows how they did armour, gloves and weapons.. but they go much beyond that to texturing, and boning (which is still being worked on…

  • ITnews has an article with a lot of numbers and stats about the PS2 and Xbox sales in Australia. Their conclusion is that "Sony is caning the console market" (insert Ali G joke here). • Found this over at AustralianIT. Hmmm.. April the 1st was 4 months ago! • Ugo.com has a great preview of Irrational Games' The Lost. "The Lost is looking like another classic from Irrational Games. Its dark undertones, mature storyline, genre-bending gameplay and impressive visuals are coming together to make a deep experience, and one largely unfound on a console system. If System Shock 2's style was up your alley, The Lost looks to be taking that same road, albeit it, a dark and twisted varient. Look for it when the game releases this October for the PS2 and Xbox…
  • Selling beta versions of games as full fledged copies at Retail stores ? Tell me it isn't so, PlanetCrap! "Earlier this week Canadian publisher Strategy First published a run of its new flight-sim, Strike Fighters Project 1 and issued them to Wal-Mart for sale. Although the game is not scheduled for release until at least August 6th (according to EBWorld; later according to other sources), the game was packaged up and released as a full-fledged finished game on July 20th."
  • There sure is a lot stirring concerning Citizen Zero, by Microforte.. and I'm not even referring to the developement side! Basically, even though no official announcements have been made, fans and media are a bit up in knots about where they presume Citizen Zero is heading, and developers having to try and calm things down. This article sums it up pretty much (warning, some real cheesy Aussie talk in there). Click here for Citizen Zero forum where a lot of the nuttiness can be seen..
