Submission of Abstracts for GCAP 2010

The Game Developers' Association of Australia is now soliciting session proposals for speakers from all disciplines to address our core theme of ‘The Player Experience' for Game Connect Asia Pacific 2010.

This year’s conference is taking an holistic view of the development process, exploring how every line of code, piece of art, business and marketing decision impacts our audience.

GCAP Structure

GCAP consists of a number of tracks:

• Programming
• Art
• Design
• Audio
• Business Dev
• Marketing

and has multiple presentation formats:

• Panel / Roundtable discussions
• Lectures
• Workshops

Initial submissions

• Speaker contact information.
• Speaker biography detailing your professional experience in the industry.
• Speaking history detailing other speaking engagements, including topics and audience and feedback if available
• Session Title
• Session Description. What is the main topic(s) of your talk? Use concrete, specific examples. Max 400 words.
• Audience takeaway. What NEW information or knowledge will the audience take away? Max 100 words.
• How your proposed session connects to the core theme of ‘The Player Experience.’ Be specific and relate it to the topics covered in your session description & audience takeaway. Max 100 words.
• Tracks. This can be more than one.
• Presentation format. If panel / roundtable discussion, please identify other potential speakers.
Points to Note

GCAP 2010 is a professional development conference. Consider the level of your audience as being very experienced technically and artistically. When putting together your abstract submission, aim high.

GCAP 2010 is about the holistic experience. Don’t be afraid for your proposal to span multiple disciplines.

Be constructive. GCAP 2010 is about collaboration and building networks. Be sure to provide clear solutions & opportunities in your proposed talk.

Consider questions when planning your session. Can you build something more interesting through inviting interaction?

Deadline: COB. Friday, 10 September 2010

GCAP 2010 will be held at the Gold Coast Convention Centre, Thursday 14 October - Friday 15 October, 2010
