Countdown to Game Connect: Asia Pacific 2007

Every year the video game industry comes together for Australia's premier interactive entertainment event: Game Connect: Asia Pacific (www.gameconnectap.com.au). And with just over two weeks to go until the official opening, registrations are ramping up for GCAP 07.

"This year will be one of the biggest and best conferences the Asia Pacific region has seen, with delegates coming from Canada, UK, U.S.A and from throughout Asia" said Tom Crago President of the GDAA and CEO of Tantalus. "We already have delegates confirmed from Konami, Eidos, Sega , Midway, Microsoft and Sony, in addition to all the major players from the Australian industry." Crago said that 2007 has been a huge year for the Australian industry. "At GCAP we"ll also be celebrating the success of our local developers. There have been some massively successful releases this year, and we"re keen to shine the light on some of our homegrown talent."

The highlight of the Conference will be the GDAA Games Awards Night dinner to be held at the Grand Hyatt Melbourne on Saturday 17th November, which will see representatives from publishers, game developers, governments and industry Australia-wide. A full program of awards will recognise the success stories of the Australian industry for 2007.

Game Connect: Asia Pacific 2007 is the premier conference, exhibition and networking event for the Asia Pacific Game Industry. It will be held in Melbourne, Australia between the 15 and 17 of November, 2007. GCAP will include an Investors Forum and Skills Summit, and is proudly hosted by the Game Developer's Association of Australia (GDAA), with support from the Victorian Government. GCAP will focus on best practice, learning, discussion, growth of game development, and sharing of knowledge, and will deliver a stimulating technical program featuring local and international leaders in the field of video game development.
