Destroy All Humans! Storms Japanese Charts

Getting accolades from industry awards is nice, but nothing beats commercial recognition to go along with it. Destroy All Humans! took out the 2005 Game of the Year in the Sumea Awards, as well as Best Console Game in both the Sumea and AGDC Awards for 2005.

In its debut week in the Japanese charts this week, it was the second highest selling title on the PlayStation 2. As I'm sure you're all aware, that Japanese market is a tough nut to crack for Western developers, so to make it to #2 is quite an achievement, especially since the PlayStation 2 is still going very strong over there. Japan: 1. Higurashi no Naku Koro ni Matsuri (Alchemist), 2. Destroy All Humans! (Sega), 3. Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas (Capcom), 4. Lupin III: Lupin ni wa Shi o, Zenigata ni wa Koi o (Banpresto), 5. Okami (Capcom).

For those interested in seeing the Japanese website for Destroy All Humans!, then check this out! I'm not entirely sure what those three guys are saying in the intro screen, but I'm sure it's something very intense.
