ROLE DESCRIPTION
CHIEF TECHNOLOGY OFFICER
OVERVIEW

Literacy Planet is a highly successful, Gold Coast based start-up delivering online educational tools and content to teachers, school students and parents. We have seen fantastic growth in Australia and we are taking this product to the World wide stage.

To help us deliver these growth plans, we need an experienced, passionate and highly energetic CTO to shape our IT capability and deliver some truly exciting innovation.

This is a senior role, acting as the right hand to the CEO and operating across the business in the capacity as owner of technical delivery and product execution.

The ideal recruit will have had previous experience within a successful start-up in a similar capacity, not necessarily in Australia.

This is a fantastic, unprecedented opportunity to join an ethical, fun company which is at an exciting inflection point. Join us at the right time and help us change the World!

RESPONSIBILITIES
The CTO will be responsible for maintaining and evolving the delivery capability within LiteracyPlanet.

  • Striking the right balance of process, rigour and fun to maintain the younger, high energy, high passion culture
  • Participating in business strategy planning (adding the technical and product angle)
  • Formulating a high level product development roadmap, managing this through to delivery using agile methodology
  • Working closely with the creative director to visually articulate and story board concepts, maintaining a balance of what is implementable vs. what delivers value to customers
  • Providing transparent, relevant delivery and execution updates to the executive board, managing feedback appropriately
    • Encouraging collaboration and innovation across the whole team
    • Perform the day-to-day management, coaching and mentoring of the development team (including objective setting, review and development)
    • As various business objectives are met, play a critical role in scaling the delivery capability through the recruitment of staff and evolution of agile process whilst ensuring consistency and culture

    PERSONAL ATTRIBUTES

    • Tenacious with a strong desire to understand, analyse and rectify any technology challenge using the resources and expertise around you
    • Able to take your team on a journey through a challenge or requirement, conveying passion and belief

    EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS

    • Proven experience implementing agile process in various (multiple) businesses and teams
