The Exertion Games Lab (exertiongameslab.org) in Melbourne, Australia, is seeking exceptional PhD candidates to research the future of exertion games and play.

The course starts on the 15th of February and runs for 5 days. Classes are from 10am to 5pm with a 1 hour break.

The cost is AU$750.

Here's an event that nearly flew under my radar, kudos goes to to sceenplay for highlighting this. The 4th Australasian Conference on Interactive Entertainment (IE 2007) is on this weekend at RMIT city campus, and has grown from a one day forum to a 3 day conference.

The conference provides a forum for professionals, researchers and developers to discuss some of the critical and hypothetical frameworks for emerging modes and models of interactive entertainment.
