A Play-bit Entertainment retrospective of 2010

Chris Watts from Play-bit entertainment has written a personal retrospective, outlining some of the achievements he's had this year and where he fell short in 2010. This is the second year of his journey as an independent games developer and it's always been great to follow Chris's progress since he's been pretty open about how and why he went into indie games development and the plans he has for Play-bit entertainment through blog entries like these, his tweets, as well as the panel discussions he's been part of at conferences like Freeplay.

So how did Chris go? Well, it was a mixed bag unfortunately, but that's all really part of the process of going at it on your own...

(Chris W.) 2010 was a year of learning the ropes of small business and indie game development.

I’ve come to understand that building a business doesn’t happen overnight. It takes trial and error and years of acquired knowledge make a business work.

2011 will be a year of continued work and play towards building a studio that makes great, successful games.

It certainly no easy task as an indie developer where you're running and managing your own business, doing your own marketing and P.R, and there's that other part of the equation that includes designing and developing your own game too. Chris has to be commended for having a great go at it, and we wish him the absolute best for 2011!
