PlayBit Entertainment

We’re currently seeking two skilled, experienced programmers to join the Play-Bit Entertainment team for the positions of Game Programmer and Online Integration Programmer. Play-Bit Entertainment is a company based in Melbourne and we’ve been hard at work on developing our first commercial game to release which is due later this year. Our initial focus is on creating small, highly polished social games for online portals like Facebook and Google+.

Hi everyone, Chris here from Play-Bit Entertainment.

We’re near wrapping up an iOS project and in need of a 2D artist to take the current UI layout we’ve created and create a fun and polished art-pass to it.

The workload of this project is very small in scale and would take about 1-2 weeks of full time work to complete. This short-term position would be an excellent way for any art student or post-grad to gain some solid experience and accreditation in making game art. We’re also offering a small monetary payment for your time spent.

On Tuesday, Melbourne independent developers, Brawsome and Play-bit Entertainment revealed that they were successful in their applications for Film Victoria's Games Investment Program.

Congratulations must go to Brawsome and Play-bit Entertainment on their success of securing the latest round of funding from Film Victoria's Game Investment Program. Andrew Goulding from Brawsome and Chris Watts from Play-bit are not only top blokes but are both extremely dedicated and hard working guys who really are passionate about making games.

Chris Watts from Play-bit entertainment has written a personal retrospective, outlining some of the achievements he's had this year and where he fell short in 2010. This is the second year of his journey as an independent games developer and it's always been great to follow Chris's progress since he's been pretty open about how and why he went into indie games development and the plans he has for Play-bit entertainment through blog entries like these, his tweets, as well as the panel discussions he's been part of at conferences like Freeplay.
