I seek to contract an experienced Flash/AIR programmer to do a full evaluation of a game project in a polished proof-of-concept state. The first, guaranteed phase of the contract would be to evaluate the code and give an estimate of the time it would take for a programmer to expand on the project and add more mini-apps to the game system platform. I reckon this phase would take several full-time days or more. This may result in a second, long-term phase in which the same person would actually become the programmer who continues the project development.

The game interface - what exactly is it? Is it the user interface (UI)? Is it the control system?

Nintendo's Wii, Microsoft's Kinect and Sony's Move has seen rise to a host of new UI/control. Some forms of game play are dumping the controller and UI altogether in favour of using the real world, and others are playing with augmenting the real and crafting illusion using AR technology.

So, is it all just novelty or is the game the interface (or is the interface the game)?

IGN feature on the Australian games education sector

An industry is only as good as the experience of its workforce, and there's little doubt that the education sector plays a vital role in the games industry's growth and success. For many game development students across Australia graduating from their multi-year courses this month, it's a time for celebration, but they do so knowing that the industry they had hoped to enter has drastically changed since when they first enrolled.
