IGN interviews IEAA CEO Chris Hanlon

IGN has an interview with The Interactive Entertainment Association of Australia (IEAA) about their latest report on our consumer games industry, providing more insights into their survey on Australian gamers, as well as the $1 billion figure the industry generated.

The interview gets most interesting when the discussion changes to games classification, where Chris Hanlon, CEO at the IEAA, talks about actively pursuing the R rating for games...

Chris Hanlon: Well, our President, John Watts and myself presented to Philip Ruddock and the standing committee of Attorney Generals twice last year and we presented them with data which talks about the average age of gamers in Australia being 28 years old. The industry has also gone around and spoken to every state and territory Attorney General and their policy advisors individually.
