Take Two says L.A Noire still in development

Company

Of course we all know it's in development! If there was any doubt, I'm pretty sure we'd hear about it by now. But that hasn't stopped Kotaku nosing through publisher Take Two's quarterly earnings call again for any bit of information on Team Bondi's highly secretive detective thriller game.

They found that the game is indeed still in development under the Rockstar umbrella, however, L.A Noire is not listed in upcoming titles coming from Take Two which means that we may not see it until sometime after mid-2010. From Kotaku...

All Take-Two would say was that, yes, the game is still in development at Rockstar—they didn't mention Team Bondi by name—and that they'd share more information when they had more information to share.

Based on their advertised positions, specifically their art-based contracts, the game is intended for a late 2009 release -- to be on the shelves for Christmas.

All these contracts come to an end around this time.

However, considering the complete lack of game details and more importantly, promotional efforts. It wouldn't surprise me that this game ends up being released sometime next year -- what's another year when it has been six already?

BTW: not saying the game is going to be crap or anything, I actually hope that what has been invested results in a great game released by the local industry -- if not a commercial success, then a critical one.
