A sneak peek at Looney Tunes on Wii

Company

Aussie-Nintendo.com has a brief sneak peek at Looney Tunes: ACME Arsenal on the Nintendo Wii, with a few screenshots of the game to show and a synopsis of the story in the game. They also talk about other aspects of the game such as controls, and multiplayer functionality...

This game plays like your typical 3D action platformer. Even though this game had just a little way to go before being complete, the models, animation and textures looked more or less like the final product. From what we saw, it was one of the best looking games on the Wii to date...

Red Tribe has done a pretty good job of getting this game together on all major platforms, and it's looking really good on the Wii too.

Looney Tunes: ACME Arsenal is expected for release later this year!

Apparently Nintendo Power gave this a 3.5/10, which is pretty worrying. Anyone know what's wrong with it?

    No that's false.
    It's scoring very well ;)

You can pre-order online. I ordered my copy after reading it and seeing the screen shots. They had a six page spread on Nintendo Power, looked very cool.

This team always surprises me. I don't know how they pulled this one off. Its a great result. Its good to see a new Australian company producing high quality games. You get the sense they really care about what they do. I wasn't expecting anything like this out of redtribe. Good stuff.

You're a suck Mike. Did you ever end up applying there for a job in the end? Good to see Australian developers kicking ass. I heard they were working on Mad Max. Is that true?
  • 1. REDTRIBER - Wed, 26 Sep 2007 13:00:12 EST
Not Mad Max. We're working on an original IP and some other games.

Just read the review. Very positive. The game will do well. . Its very hard to get such a high score with a licensed title released across multiple platforms. We came close on our title but we ran out of time. Not blaming anyone John, Its just a fact.

I found this review of the Xbox 360 version on 1up. :(
Hopefully the Wii version will be more well received.

(Stupid Sumea won't let me post the link here, so just go to Google, type in "acme arsenal xbox review" and click "I'm Feeling Lucky")

hmmm....you mean this one .."There's simply nothing redeeming about Acme Arsenal. It's an incredibly poor, woefully unentertaining use of a great license, and an absolute bore to play."..

Can someone tell me why my post was getting swear-filtered?? Had to space it all out all crazy to get it accepted :(

Probably the "1up dot com" in your comment. In addition to swear words, the filter doesn't allow links either. Annoying, yes?

Chris whatever the game is obviously $hit and a shame to see how greed can destroy an old classic toon......trying to milk it even if it means killing it ..what a shame

wow @ the 1UP review. massive damage...
  • 13. LooneyTuney - Mon, 15 Oct 2007 15:05:49 EST
I just bought a copy. No idea why this reviewer doesn't like it. Wierd. I haven't stopped playing since yesterday. Kept playing today. Its now late afternoon. It's a fun game. My favourite character is Daffy so far,. I haven't unlocked all the games characters yet and I haven't played battle mode against a friend. I would give it a 7.5 out of 10. If you like Platform games and you know button combo skills, then I would get it. ahright :)

And I'm glad that a fan such as yourself found an Australian development website and decided to post your views. I hope more fans of Australian made games find Sumea and post their views on news items. Otherwise, it will just continue to be developers making comments on their own games!
