What Makes For Good Strategy, Mr. Creative Assembly?

Keith Stuart, of the Game Culture Blog, recently had a sit down with Mike Simpson, the Studio Director of Creative Assembly to talk about what makes a good strategy game in Keith’s ‘Genre Report’.

The Creative Assembly is world renown for their ‘Total War’ historic strategy warfare series, and have development studios both in Australia and the UK. Mike fielded some interesting questions about the genre, and the expected future of strategy gaming as a whole. When asked what was next for Creative Assembly after their very successful Medieval II: Total War PC release, Mike had the following to say:

Aha. Big things, that's for sure but unfortunately we're not in a position to reveal just what they are right now. Since we joined up with Sega we've had the resources to expand our teams and are now able to do bigger and better things than ever before so the future is very exciting for us.
