Pixar celebrates 20 years of animation at ACMI

The most popular and successful animation studio of the last 20 years is opening its archives to the public at ACMI this June. For the first time ever, Pixar, the company that brought you Toy Story, A Bugs Life, Monsters Inc, Finding Nemo, The Incredibles, Cars and now, Ratatouille, is putting on display its story boards, character model sheets, concept sketches, drawings, paintings, colour-scripts and sculptures that they have created in the last 20 years, and used to make their films come alive.

Get a deep insight into the creative process that Pixar?s talented art team go through in the creation of each one of their award-winning masterpieces. See how they take the characters, and the worlds in which they live, from concept to completion.

This exhibition will find fans from artists both in film and games, not excluding designers, producers and even programmers who will appreciate, not just the art, but the processes and techniques behind Pixar?s pioneering animation art.

Pixar: 20 years of animation is exclusive to the Australian Centre for the Moving Image and will be on display from the 28th of June to the 14th of October 2007.
