Wii Preorders Sky-Rocket!

Vooks has reported that over 30,000 Wii units have been preordered in Australia, an obvious sign for the level of excitement for the imminent release on December 7th.

Signs also point that the Wii will become the fastest selling console, considering that the Xbox 360 sold around 30,000 units in its first week. If the Wii’s preorders are anything to go by, it should surpass that record.

    <yawn>

    Here it is! One hour waiting outside Toys R Us (*after* the opening), another 45min waiting in-store. Basically no 3rd party titles available at all. Not the ideal launch - but the price was pretty good in the end ($550 = console, 2 controllers, Zelda, Wii Play, Wii Sports, lots of coupons, classic controller, Wii bag).

    The guy I spoke to at Toys R Us said that the preorders was "ten times higher" than for the 360 launch.

    Got it online, but wasn't able to update the BIOS (yet) - seems that the server is too busy, and it keeps timing out. Maybe tonight.

    4 hrs of sleep (after 3am by the time I got home).

    Just need to survive until tonight :)

    I saw EB Games selling Zelda for $100. You definately got a nice deal at Toys R Us.
