Information Session for Global Digital Games Comp

Still in time for global digital games Comp

Council's Economic and Cultural Development Committee Chair, Councillor Jan Grew, said the Gold Coast was one of 12 GDCN member cities.

'Gold Coasters taking part in this international contest, aimed at encouraging the development of games and game art, are encouraged to attend the information session,' said Cr Grew.

The information session will be held on 8 September 4.30pm at All Interactive, Level 1, 58 Kingston Drive, Gaven. Please RSVP on 5582 8111.

'The GDCN is an organisation of cities dedicated to promoting world-class digital and knowledge based industrial activity among its members,' said Cr Grew.

The other cities are Chuncheon City (Korea), Dubai (United Arab Emirates), Dundee (Scotland), Inuyama City and Kakamigahara City (Japan), Dalian City, Jilin City, Yanji City and Shenyang City (Peoples Republic of China), Nizhny Novgorod (Russia), and Taipei (Taiwan).

'The competition provides entrants the potential to gain international recognition for their creative and technical expression, and highlights digital creative industries. It is open students and 'gamers' keen to express technical and creative skills,' said Grew.

'It provides an ideal opportunity for the Gold Coast to showcase its talent on the international stage, with the overall winner travelling to Dubai in November to meet other competition finalists from around the world.'
