New Presenter for Popular ABC2 Gaming Program

ABC2 SEARCHES FOR NEW PRESENTER FOR POPULAR GAMING PROGRAM

ABC2's popular gaming program is on the hunt for a new presenter. Series two of Good Game starts soon, but the program is one host short.

Good Game is searching for an experienced gamer who can cast an impartial and critical eye over games, and be able to deliver an intelligent and entertaining analysis of the game scene in Australia and around the world.

"The number of gamers in Australia is rapidly increasing", said Paige Livingston, Executive Producer. "We are looking for someone within this growing community to be the next presenter of Good Game."

Up until last year, Australian gamers were pretty much ignored by the mainstream media, treated very much as a fringe niche. But then came Good Game on ABC2 - a program by gamers for gamers.

The popular cross-platform series, hosted by Jeremy Ray (Junglist) and Mike Makowski (Kapowski), was dedicated to featuring the latest gaming news and events, top gaming tips, reviews, and interviews with game developers and the people behind the scenes. The fun continues in 2007, but alas without Kapowski.

"It has been fantastic working with Mike. He has been a wonderful and enthusiastic presenter for Good Game. Mike leaves with our thanks and best wishes," says Janet Carr, Series Producer.

"I have bought myself a suit and I am back in the corporate world. This is a huge opportunity guys! GG was the best thing I have ever done," says Mike Makowski.

Interested gamers, living in Sydney, are asked to send a 1-2 minute video of themselves to the Good Game team. Information on the technical specifications and further details on how to apply, are available at abc.net.au/goodgame . The closing date for submissions is Tuesday 27 February.

Enquiries can be sent to the Good Game team via the "contact form" on the Good Game home page at abc.net.au/goodgame .

ABC2 is the ABC's digital-only, free-to-air channel - a complementary service offering new, original and innovative content alongside time-shifted ABC programs. It is available free-to-air on channel 21 with a digital set-top box, or from selected pay TV services. For more information, visit abc.net.au/abc2
