QUT Students Involved in Fatal Accident

I know many of our visitors here went to the Free Play independant game developers conference in Melbourne a short while ago, so I'm sure this news will come as a great shock to a lot of you.

Cameron has posted the sad news that one of the participants of the conference has passed away. Adam Neykoff-Davies, from the Queensland University of Technology, exhibited the Faux Cave virtual reality solution in the demo room of Free Play. It's extremely tragic news for QUT since four of their students were involved in the accident...

The Courier-Mail reports:

"Adam Neykoff-Davies, 32, and Gerard Cutcheon, 21 - both final year communication and multimedia design students at the Queensland University of Technology - were killed when their car ran off the road in the South Burnett on Saturday in an attempt to avoid cattle.

A third student, 20-year-old Helena Wood, from France, was also killed when the four-wheel drive rolled and struck a tree near Durong, 290km northwest of Brisbane.

A 20-year-old student survived the accident when she was flung from the car."

I'm sure everyone here is extremely saddened by the terrible loss, and we all send our deepest condolences to their family and friends..
