Free Play 2005: Price, Date, Booking Info

We are pleased to announce that Free Play 2005: the Next Wave Independent Game Developers Conference will be happening from the 15-17 July at ACMI, Federation Square, Flinders Street Melbourne, Australia.

Free Play will cater for independent and DIY game developers, game modders and mappers, creatively frustrated professionals, game development students and digital artists from every state in Australia. Its aim is to bring together these communities in a forum that is financially reasonable, with a programme developed by the communities themselves.

Check our website soon for full conference details (www.free-play.org). Our committee is currently working hard to put together another great conference jam packed with anything and everything an independent gamer needs to know! We'll be bringing in guest speakers from around Oz and even a few international guests.

Tickets for the conference will go on sale on Tuesday 14 June through the ACMI Box Office and online www.acmi.net.au. Prices are as follows: $50 for a 3 day pass (full), $35 for a 3 day pass (conc), $20 for a single day pass (full) & $15 for a single day pass (conc).

DEMO Your Game: Shortly we will be taking applications for game demos during the conference, so if you've been madly creating make sure you let us know! Travel subsidies will also be available so if you're coming from interstate do demo your game/mod etc make sure you fill us in.

Free Play is developed from the collaborative efforts of volunteers from the indie, professional, modding and game art communities, the Next Wave festival (Marcus Westbury, Artistic Director), Fiona Maxwell (General Manager) and Natalie Grigg (Conference Organiser).
