Over half a million DS units sold in Australia

A Nintendo Australia press release has revealed that the Nintendo DS has sold over 550,000 units in Australia since its launch in 2005. Adding to the impressive numbers, it was also confirmed that over 400,000 Touch Generation titles had been snapped up by consumers in the same period.

In typical Nintendo marketing fashion, the press release went on to detail the recently revealed More Brain Training from Dr. Kawashima: How Old is your Brain, and announced it would be hitting Aussie shores on July 5, with a recommended retail price of AU$49.95.

"Whether you?re young or old, a long-term gamer, or have never picked up a video game in your life ? ?Touch! Generations? is a perfect way to enjoy the world of video gaming," said Rose Lappin, Director of Sales and Marketing. "The Nintendogs series has done wonders in reaching the younger female audience. The Brain Training series has certainly extended our appeal beyond the traditional gaming audience. With More Brain Training, it?s great to see such a worthy sequel to such an important and innovative product."
