This exciting seminar will explore ways film makers can use their existing skills to tap into the lucrative games development industry.
Digital Media expert Mark Pesce, who is currently lecturing at AFTRS, said the crossover between film and games was just beginning. "Film makers need to master the production process of game design and creation so that they can leverage their film and television properties into profitable game titles," he said.

It is estimated that over 90 million household own game consoles. That number, and the demand for new games, continues to grow.
The seminar will provide participants with an overview of the games market, the culture, current and potential audiences, how to pitch an idea and how to translate film making skills to the games industry. The emphasis will be on practical information with some theory to put ideas into context.

Guest speakers include Ben Lenzo from Perception, David Giles from the Academy of Interactive Entertainment, Josephine Starrs from the Sydney College of the Arts and John Banks from Auran.
