"Welcome to Altruistic Gamer, a compendium for all things gaming in Melbourne. It is run by a small but dedicated team of gamers and future game developers.

Each week we have 3 new features and 3 regular segments while major updates occur every fortnight. We’ll provide you with insightful articles, reviews and essays into games, gaming issues, and game design. We’ll be providing some tutorials and more importantly valuable information that will aid you in your endeavours as a games student.

You're probably wondering why you should listen to us. Each us are either current students, or graduates of game design and development. Some of us are making our first tentative steps into the industry, while others have worked in free development groups, and mods. Together we have an understanding and wealth of knowledge of gaming, especially in academia which will guide you towards becoming a professional game developer.
