"Is it possible to design videogames that deal with social and political issues? Are video games capable of being more than just fun?"

These are the issues that Gonzalo Frasca addresses within his work, which focuses on videogame rhetorics, advergaming, and political and educational games. Frasca currently works as a researcher at the Center for Computer Games Research at the IT University of Copenhagen. He is also the founder of the highly influential Ludology.org one of the "hip places for a new generation of media philosophers".
Not just a theoretician Frasca is the designer of newsgamings.com provocative games and co-founder and senior producer at Powerful Robot Games, a studio focusing on advergaming and webgames he produced and co-designed the first official videogame ever commissioned for a U.S. Presidential Campaign In 2004 he created Cambiemos an official game, for the Uruguayan election campaign.
