A word of warning for those planning on picking up a Wii when it launches here: be careful!
People are finding that Wii Sports, excited gamers and wrist straps that aren't as strong as they should be are a potentially ugly - and expensive - combination. One poor fellow over at Something Awful managed to shatter his 60 inch rear projection television.
Ouch.

It's interesting to read some of the anecdotes and stories coming out during the release of new consoles. The Xbox360 had it's fair share of overheating issues, the Wii story above, and this story at Kotaku about a PS3 that was about to explode because it wasn't ventilated properly, having been placed inside a cabinet under the TV!
