Qld funds Game Developers

Because making games is a rather expensive affair, the Queensland government has decided that it will help out by spending $1 million over the next four years on Queensland game developers.

"The program will provide development kits for a range of console-game formats, fund industry attendance at key conferences, sponsor business mentors, and secure affordable broadband access."

Queensland boasts "18 game development companies, employing about 300 people, and representing about 40 per cent of the industry nationally", and is really challenging Melbourne as the premier place for games development. Read it at AustralianIT.
