Aussie Virtual Concert on 'Second Life'

It seems everything is going Second Life these days. Businesses, education… music? Yes, that’s right, it seems that the massively multiplayer interactive world of Second Life will be the virtual location for an Aussie music gig, called ‘The Hoe-Down Under – Texas’s Aussie Music Party’.

What’s Texas got to do with it? Well, among thirty others, bands such as You Am I, Beast of Bourbon, Youth Group and Dallas Crane will be heading to Austin, Texas, to participate in the South by Southwest Music and Media Conference next month. It will be then that this virtual concert will take place, currently scheduled for March 15.

This virtual gig is supported by the Australian Music Office, in association with the producers Cattle Puppy Productions, who also own one of the virtual islands in the Second Life world. It is reported that those that attend the concert will be able to interact with ‘beach’ atmosphere, with two stages and a dance area.
