The 3rd Annual Canberra Games Festival

Submitted by Peter Henderson

The 3rd annual Canberra Games Festival takes over the Nation?s Capital from 18-31 July 2006 and is shaping up to be the best Festival yet.

The Festival celebrates the positive contribution that games and interactive entertainment have made to our lives and our society. This year?s theme: Culture | Art | Identity recognises the increasing acceptance of games as a valid form of entertainment and as a genuine artistic medium.

The official Festival program is available on the Canberra Games Festival website: www.canberragamesfestival.com. Current highlights include the LazyBoyz Lan Tournaments featuring Quake 4, Warcraft 3, Battlefield 2 and Counter Strike competitions with a total prize pool in excess of $1000 value; GAME ON! AIE Schools Day, a free schools event to promote awareness of the Australian games, film and 3D animation industries; and the Canberra Games Festival Trivia Night, a relaxing evening to test your knowledge of video games. More exciting events will be announced in the coming weeks.

The 3rd annual Festival has already received an unprecedented level of support from sponsors as it continues its push towards national significance. The growing list of sponsors already includes the ACT Government, Internode, Micro Fort?, BigWorld, Wacom and Control Freaks.

I'm looking for a company that I can send a game to that I have developed. It is an exciting travel game that surpasses all others. If you are interested I could send more details or if you don't do this sort of thing , do you know of anyone I could contact who may be interested?
    Thanks
