PLEASE NOTE that you must apply through the SEEK website

******************************************************************

Firemint is one of the best iPhone and iPad game development studios in the world. Our award-winning hit games Flight Control and Real Racing have been immensely successful and have enabled us to now exclusively work on our own games.

Among numerous other awards, we recently won two Apple Design Awards – unprecedented for two apps from one developer in one year. Our games are regularly featured by Apple, including in the global advertising campaign for iPod touch in print, TV and online.

We produce our world-best games through an irrational obsession with polish and creating a fun entertainment experience, and we’re looking for a web designer who wants to join our team to do the best work they possibly can! This is a new position due to the growth of the publishing side of our business, commencing ASAP.

Your role will be to work with other Firemint team members to scope, design, implement and update/maintain web sites for a variety of purposes, including

* Firemint.com: studio information and blog, incorporating sections with information about our games.
* Cloudcell.com: sites that integrate with data from our games, primarily used by our existing players (eg realracing.cloudcell.com and flightcontrol.cloudcell.com).
* Intranet/Extranet: various administrative tools and systems that help Firemint team members do their work.

You will take each project from brief to finished site (with help from others where needed). Some graphic design work, eg marketing materials, branding and collaterals is also possible.

Who we're looking for

* You have at least 3 years experience in a similar role and are highly proficient with PhotoShop and Illustrator. You can hand-code web-standards compliant HTML and CSS.
* You’re comfortable working with WordPress installations (or similar) and are willing to learn how to work within our proprietary PHP/MySQL framework. You know enough about JavaScript and PHP to hack something together from examples and tutorials, and are keen to learn more. If you already know more, that’s awesome.
* You have an excellent eye for design and aesthetic judgement. You can critique your own work, and appreciate constructive criticism from others because you believe in constantly improving your skills and the work you produce. You take a lot of pride in producing fantastic work.
* You’re highly creative and excited by building solutions that achieve real results. You have a genuine desire to inform, entertain and engage web site visitors, and thrive on outcomes and solutions, not just artistic self-expression.
* You value user interface design principles including usability, accessibility and platform issues. If you don’t have formal experience, you nevertheless understand the importance of designing from the point of view of the user.
* You manage your own work and meet commitments you make.
* An interest in games is highly desirable.

What we can offer you:

* No suits. No clueless corporate clients or mind-numbingly boring government sites.
* A great, professional but laid back team environment with some of the smartest and most talented game makers anywhere.
* Light, open-plan modern studio environment in central Richmond location, awesome coffee immediately across the road. Many local cafes, restaurants and shops.
* Close to public transport with various train and tram stops within walking distance.
* Lots of small perks – free fresh fruit, game library, Friday drinks.
* The opportunity to do your best work yet.

Sound like you?

Please apply via the SEEK site only, and include

* A cover letter telling us why you'd like to work for Firemint and why you're perfect for the role
* A CV listing your professional web design experience
* A portfolio (PDF or link to your site) showing examples of your interface design and other relevant work.

You must be available to attend an interview in Richmond if short-listed. This role is located in our studio, off-site work is not available. We don't work with recruiters, so please apply direct. Thank you for your interest in joining our team!
