Calling indie developers for showcase at Game, Macquarie University

Location

When: October 27-29 2011
Where: Macquarie University, NSW

GAME is a three day event coordinated by Macquarie University and Macquarie ICT Innovations Centre held at Macquarie University between October 27 - 29, next month. The organisers are making a call for independent games developers to showcase their games for the third day festival on October 29.

You'll be allocated a nice comfortable space to show off your work (pictured above) and you'll be amongst other games developers as well as primary and secondary school students who'll be showing off their projects, all in the effort of inspiring others in the field of games!

Game On! - Family Festival Day

The third and final day of GAME will be a festival of innovative gaming experiences led by MacICT's primary and secondary school projects. This festival will include demonstrations of student-made projects and games across multiple platforms including Microsoft Kodu and Kinect and an outdoor ARG built using ARIS. Parents and families are encouraged to attend for fun and for information sessions about videogame and online education and safety.

Hey Tsumea, thanks a lot for the plug! I'd just like to point out that GAME is a 3 day event, and the readers of the site might well be interested in the first two days as well.

Day 1 is a public debate about media and videogame classification. We've got members of the classification board coming, along with academic experts in the field.

Day 2 is a more traditional academic conference day where experts from around Australia and internationally will present some of their latest research. Our keynote speakers are Ian Bogost and Espen Aarseth, two very well-regarded academics in the field.

Thanks again and I hope to see some of you guys at any or all three of the days!

Very interesting to see Espen Aarseth presenting locally. Looks good, though obviously focused on academia. Not a problem of course, as it's something in which I'm keenly interested.
