Wellington, NZ - April 30, 2004 - Game development studio Sidhe Interactive celebrated winning not only the Creative Gold category at last nights' annual Wellington Region Gold Awards ceremony, but also a win in the overall category, the Supreme Gold award. The awards, now in their 6th year, celebrate commercial enterprise and excellence in the region.

Previous winners of both the Creative and Supreme Gold awards have included Weta Digital and Weta Workshop, special effects wizards behind the highly acclaimed Lord of the Rings movie trilogy.

"2003 was a great year for our studio in so many respects", commented Mario Wynands, Managing Director of Sidhe Interactive. "We are honoured to receive the top award when so many businesses here are experiencing great success".

Amongst their achievements of 2003 was the release of Rugby League for PlayStation 2, Xbox, and PC which dominated Christmas videogame sales in the Australasian market.

Commenting on the future, Wynands said Sidhe are working on multiple as yet unannounced projects including game development for Sony's upcoming new platform, the Sony PlayStationT Portable (PSP).
