Warning : Nigerian Spammers using Sumea name

Posted by mcdrewski on Thu, 13/04/06 - 10:15 PM

I recieved this email, purportedly from sumea. However, someone is just using the Sumea name - the website is entirely blameless for this. So it's just a warning to people to let them know it's happening. (and I'm posting the full text becuase I always find these so hillarious - this story would make a great game.)

Did you receive this recently? The date stamped on the email was the 3/1/2006 which was when everyone else was getting it. That user's account was locked back then, so no one should be receiving spam from meche01.

Something else which has only started a few day ago has got me a bit concerned though for the same reasons. Spammers are forging email headers and putting email addresses in the from/reply to field. I'm getting a tonne of bounced emails around the clock where they've been unsuccessfully delivered, and I shudder to think how many do get through.
