EMD Studio is looking for a Unity generalist to join our growing team to work on a new VR research project!
The Embodied Movement Design Studio (EMD) is a bespoke new creative technology studio located in Melbourne. The Studio investigates and proactively advances the artistic, cultural and commercial potential of movement-based interactive technologies such as AR, VR, XR, and robotics.
EMD Studio is located in Windsor, a few minutes’ walk from Windsor station.
The position is a short term contract starting as soon as possible and ending in mid-March 2020.

Implementing and maintaining project systems and features.
Working effectively in a collaborative team environment.
Following EMD studio's standards and best practices.
Assisting and mentoring other employees in your area(s) of expertise.
Experience working with 3d digital content creation packages, e.g. Maya, 3ds Max, Blender.
Experience in C# and .NET.
Experience with VR development (Vive, Oculus, and Mobile VR).
Good familiarity with the Unity game engine.
Knowledge of source control (Git, Source Tree).
The ability to write clear, performance-friendly and maintainable code with adequate comments.
Excellent time management skills.
Excellent communication skills.
1 year(s) games and/or software development experience.
1 year(s) 3d content creation experience.
Alternative coding languages, e.g. C++, Python, Java.
Bachelor’s degree (or above) in relevant field
Self-taught applicants must be able to show functional demo code and or examples of programming and artistic work.
The perfect applicant would be able to both design and implement gameplay functionality in code and be able to create and implement art assets into the engine.

Payscale is Swinburne Standard HEW 6 level 1 pro-rata:
